An Inspiration Or Two
Today’s Daily Word is “Love.”
Love is one of the 12 Powers that Unity teaches to be inherent to every individual in its fullest Potential. Love is our ability to desire, attract ourselves to, harmonize, and unify. What is often difficult to understand for students of metaphysics is that when a Power is available in its infinite Potential it can be used in any direction of our choosing. That is, it can be used for something that we would ultimately perceive as good or bad. The goal of our spiritual development and in Life then is to learn to move that infinite Potential of Love into the “right” direction—a direction that serves our spiritual Growth and that of the collective.
If you are struggling with the concept of Love turning into something bad, it might help to consider the phases of development of each Power: overdeveloped and underdeveloped. Overdeveloped Love occurs when we love “too much,” which may show up us being too attached to someone or something, co-dependent, or just very needy. Underdeveloped Love occurs when we love “too little,” when we are unable to show affection, have little sense of harmony, or simply lack any form of desire. The above descriptions are rather extreme examples from a wide spectrum. Most of us probably stay much closer to the midpoint of balance. However, sometimes we may spike in one or the other direction, which then results in some form of a contradictory expression to what we usually expect Love to be.
The important point to understand is that Love is all around us and available to us at all times. We use the Power of Love whether we are consciously aware of it or not. Sometimes we use it in an overdeveloped way. Other times we express it more underdeveloped. And on those occasions when we are perfectly balanced and aligned with our Truth we move that infinite Potential into our reality through the most elevated form of consciousness we know.
And while we have this wide range of possible forms of expressions, we come to know that ultimately it is up to us how we choose to use the Potential. And because we have the Power of Choice we can also learn to move the Potential of Love into more useful directions. That is our privilege.
Maybe today you consider your movements of Love in your life. Can you spot where they are overdeveloped? Do you find instances when they might be an expression of underdeveloped Love? Or do you see how often you are perfectly balanced and aligned with your Divinity? Notice the little nuances and start using your harmonizing Ability of your Power of Love to find Unity in your experiences with your true Desires. It is all there for you to embrace.
