Youth & Family Ministry

Our mission is not to entertain the children, but to call them out.
— Myrtle Fillmore (Unity Co-Founder)

As a spiritual community, we provide a safe place of love and acceptance where all children and teens can experience the awareness of their Oneness with God and all life. We create programs and experiences that invite the Divine potential in each individual to grow and expand. Using the tools of affirmative prayer, Living Curriculum, meditation, and service, we practice Unity spiritual principles as a way of life.

Sunday Mornings

We are taking a break this summer from our YFM Sunday Experience starting Sunday, June 2nd. Families are encouraged to enjoy Sunday Service together and are welcome to use the children’s area in the back of the sanctuary.

Registered families will continue to receive our Virtual Adventures newsletters for spiritual learning and practice at home during the break.

Registration

Registration of all children is necessary for safety and so we can better serve our families.

FAQs

What is our YFM inspired by?

Our YFM is inspired by one of our co-founders’ recognition of the power of youth in the development of everyone’s spirituality:

Our mission is not to entertain the children, but to call them out. To be always entertained is to be dwarfed and dependent. Who meddles with the rosebud? What fingers are deft enough to pry open that marvel of folded beauty? We are wise enough to leave it alone to follow the glad law of its own unfolding. But our children! Have we dealt as wisely with these buds of marvelous possibilities? Have we always remembered that they, too, must quicken and unfold through the innate law of their own genius?
— Myrtle Fillmore, Unity Co-Founder

When and where does YFM meet?

We meet at 1 PM during the Sunday service. Check-in is in the Parlor at 4201 Trail Lake Dr, Fort Worth, TX 76109.

Children may be dropped off between 12:30 and 1 PM. Parents must accompany their children in order to check them in. This ensures that safety of the children. Youth 16 and older may check in themselves.

Do you have a nursery?

We do not currently provide nursery care for younger children, however our nursery room is open for parents to stay with their children while watching the service on a large screen. Nursery care will be provided at some time in the future.

What if I have somewhere else I need to be, but I want my children to attend the Sunday Morning Experience?

Parents must stay on campus and available while their child is in our care. If we need your assistance, you will receive a text.

Can my child eat breakfast if we are running late?

No. Our classes are active, and we need everyone participating. Food and drinks are not allowed in the classroom. Students are provided water when they ask.

Can my child bring their electronics or favorite toy?

No. Electronics and toys can be a distraction from our activities for your child as well as others.

My child has special needs; can you accommodate?

We are an inclusive community. Most of the time we are able to meet the needs of children. The director has extensive training and experience working with children. We will let you know if we are unable to accommodate your child’s needs.

Can my children attend the service with me?

Yes. Children are always welcome in the sanctuary. We do encourage children to be a part of the YFM Sunday Morning Experience to explore Unity teachings tailored to their age and to build relationships with other children in our community.

What is the experience of the teachers?

Our teachers are volunteers from the congregation. They are required to attend training and begin by observing prior to teaching. There are always at least two teachers in the classroom. For the safety of your child, all YFM volunteers must pass a background check.
