Covid-19 Update: Gov. Abbott’s Executive Order

Today', Gov. Abbott issued an executive order covering the following:

  • All Texans are to wear a face covering over the nose and mouth in public spaces.

  • Mayors and county judges have the ability to impose restrictions on outdoor gatherings of over 10 people.

A few exceptions are outlined in the executive order, including outdoor activities, such as exercising or labor.

After reviewing the executive order, the UFW Board of Trustee’s policy on the first phase of our reopening process remains current. Any outdoor gatherings on UFW grounds are to follow our policy without exception including

  • social distancing of six feet

  • wearing a mask at all times, except

  • when engaging in physical labor and 12 or more feet apart.

  • Persons living in the same household may be in close proximity of each other.

Consequently, the UFW policy remains in place as follows:

Reopening Process Policy – Phase 1 – Outside Gatherings

  • Outside gatherings on campus are permitted observing the following guidelines:

    • Keeping social distance of a minimum of six feet apart (unless living in the same household).

    • Wearing a mask at all times (unless at a safe distance of 12 feet apart or more).

  • No access to any buildings is permitted at any time.

  • All individuals feeling compromised, vulnerable, or otherwise unwell are asked to refrain from coming on campus.

In the case that the City of Fort Worth, Tarrant County, or any overarching authority decides to restrict the maximum number of gatherings, we will follow suit as proclaimed. Therefore, any group gatherings will be required to follow such restrictions as announced.
