Free
Today’s Daily Word is “Free.”
Denial & Affirmation: I release any thought, feeling, and belief that restrict me in my authentic Expression. I choose to be free from any limitation. I am Divine and free Spirit. And so it is.
Scripture: …and you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free. —John 8:32
In Truth lies freedom as John 8:32 suggests. And knowing the Truth will set us free. But what Truth are we to know? Is it a universal Truth that applies to all of us? Or is it a distinctive truth that only applies to us individually? Or is it a combination of both?
Charles Fillmore, co-founder of Unity, writes that
“Truth abides in fullness at the very core of man’s being. As his consciousness (awareness) expands, he touches the everlasting Truth”

In other words, Truth underlies all existence, and as we learn to shift our focus towards Divine (or Christ) Consciousness we become of aware of a Truth that is Presence for all. At the same time, every man and women perceives that Truth through their unique filter of Individuality. The soul’s experience, however long that may have been, influence how the Truth is ultimately rendered into the reality of distinctive truth that only applies to that Individual. In a sense, we combine Truth with truth as we go about our day. We combine the Absolute with our relative reality that expresses our world.
Knowing that there is a personal truth that is derived from an ultimate Truth brings about some clarity. That is, the Truth that may present itself to us as ultimate reality is clouded by our belief system and way of thinking. Our judgments, worries, and regrets heavily influence that perception and mold our way of forming our belief system. We may say that we know the Truth, yet we are bound to the limitations of our own Understanding. All we truly can say is that our truth is what we belief to be true, ready to be challenged by our own growth of awareness at any moments notice.
Therefore, to be free is to know that our truth is about to change in any moment. We are free knowing that while we may come closer to the ultimate Truth that encompasses all creation, we are barely a reflection of it through our way of being and expressing. Yet, this freedom that we may experience within allows us to allow others to be free also. Once we truly embrace our truth to be a reflection of what we all share, we allow others to do the same. And that is true freedom. To live and let live. To be and let be. To be free and let others be free.
Maybe today you choose to set a milestone in your Understanding of true Freedom. Allow those moments in your day that bring about clarity and authenticity to be a mark for you to measure the level of your personal expression you found to be true. Then recognize that your friends and family have the same source and infinite relationship with the Truth that surpasses all understanding. Allow them to be finite and limited in their own way, too. Embrace their truth as much as yours and embrace the Joy of your Realization that in Truth we are all One as we are Unique.
And so it is. Amen.
